Recruitment: University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) Invites Applications for Vacant Teaching and Non-Teaching Positions.

The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) was established by an Act of Parliament, 2011 (Act 830).

The university is a publicly funded national institution that seeks to provide leadership and management of energy and natural resources and be a centre of excellence in these critical areas.

The university approaches its programmes and research by emphasising interdisciplinary collaboration and taking into account areas such as economics, law and policy, management, science, technology and engineering, as well as social and political issues that affect energy and natural resources.

The University of Energy and Natural Resources currently operates on two campuses, Sunyani and Dormaa Ahenkro.

ELIGIBILITY.

Professors

A person seeking appointment as Professor must:

  • Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialisation;
  • Have served at least three (3) years at the rank of Associate Professor in his/her current institution;
  • Be an acclaimed academic, a national and international scholar with a significant contribution in his/her chosen field;
  • Be appointed as a Professor in the relevant discipline in an accredited tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere;
  • Have a minimum of twenty-four (24) peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals; at least twelve (12) of these publications must have been published after promotion to the grade of Associate Professor;
  • Show evidence of continuous research and dissemination of knowledge through technology transfer and publications.

Associate Professor

A person seeking appointment as an Associate Professor must:

  • Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialisation;
  • Have served at least four (4) years at the rank of Senior Lecturer in his/her current institution;
  • Have been appointed as an Associate Professor in the relevant discipline in an accredited tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere:
  • Have a minimum of fourteen (14) peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals; at least eight (8) of these publications must have been published after promotion to the rank of Senior Lecturer;
  • Demonstrate evidence of continuous research and dissemination of knowledge through technology transfer and publication;
  • Provide evidence of other research, professional activity, invention, and innovations. Membership of relevant professional bodies is an added advantage
  • Show evidence of outstanding performance in teaching, research, and industry-related innovations in the candidate’s subject area.

Senior Lecturer

A person seeking appointment as Senior Lecturer must:

  • Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialisation;
  • Have taught for a minimum of four (4) years as a Lecturer in his/her current institution;
  • Be appointed as a Senior Lecturer in the relevant discipline in an accredited tertiary institution in Ghana or elsewhere:
  • Have a minimum of four (4) peer-reviewed publications in reputable journals;
  • Provide evidence of other research, professional activity, invention, and innovations. Membership of relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.

Lecturer

  • A person seeking appointment as a Lecturer must:
  • Possess a PhD in the relevant field of specialisation;
  • Have at least one peer-reviewed publication in a reputable journal.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.

RESEARCH FELLOW POSITION.

  • Earth Observation Research and Innovation Centre (EORIC)

Eligibility;

A person seeking appointment as a Research Fellow must:

  • Possess a PhD in Climate Change (Forest Ecology);
  • Have at least two peer-reviewed publications in a reputable journal.
  • Membership of relevant professional bodies is an added advantage.

An applicant seeking appointment as an Accountant in the University must:

  • Possess a master’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Information
  • Technology with at least four (4) years post-professional qualification working experience in a recognised university or analogous institution; or
  • Possess a master’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Information Technology and at least six (6) years post-professional qualification working experience as an accountant in industry;

Be a member of a recognised professional accounting body, preferably any of the following:

  • Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA)
  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
  • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Be of unblemished character and have a high degree of personal integrity;

Have proven organisational and leadership skills;

Possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills, be a team player, and have the capacity to manage crises.

Senior Accountants

An applicant seeking appointment as an Accountant in the university must:

  • Possess a master’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Information Technology with at least six (6) years post-professional qualification working experience in a recognised university or analogous institution; or master’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Information Technology and at least eight (8) years post-professional qualification working experience as an accountant in industry;

Be a member of a recognised professional accounting body, preferably any of the following:

Systems Librarian / Digital Services

An applicant seeking appointment as Systems Librarian / Digital Services Librarian in the university must:

  • Have a minimum of a research master’s degree in Library and Information Science or a related field;
  • Have at least five (5) years of work experience in the library with significant exposure to library systems and digital services;
  • Have proven experience managing the Library Management System (LMS);
  • Have experience with Institutional Repositories;
  • Have a strong understanding of metadata standards.
  • Have experience in managing electronic resources and access systems.

Physician Assistant

An applicant seeking appointment as a physician assistant must:

  • Possess a BSc. in Physician Assistant (Medical) from an Institution, a recognised Tertiary institution
  • Have been fully registered by the Medical and Dental Council and are of good standing;
  • Have at least four (4) years post-qualification experience;
  • Be of unblemished character and have a high degree of personal integrity;
  • Have proven organisational and leadership skills;
  • Possess excellent inter-personal and communication skills, be a team player, knowledgeable and skilful in his professional area, and capable of managing medical emergencies.
