Enchi College of Education Invites Applications for Vacant Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Positions.

 

Enchi College of Education is a teacher education college in Enchi, Western North Region, Ghana.

It is one of the 47 public colleges of education in Ghana.

Enchi College of Education offers the new Bachelor of Education programmes, and they include the B.Ed. Early Grade Education, B.Ed. Upper Primary Education and B.Ed. JHS Education (with specialisms in English, French, RME, Geography, Social Studies, History).

The College invites applications from suitably qualified individuals for teaching appointments as follows: TEACHING AREAS

Lecturers

  • Ghanaian Language (Asante Tw)
  • Early Grade Education
  • Special Education

Qualification and Experience: GHANAIAN LANGUAGE (ASANTE TWI)

  • An applicant must hold a terminal degree (PhD), an Mhawarch Master’s Degree, and a First Degree in a Ghanaian language (Asante Twi), and must have served as a Lecturer in a College of Education or a recognised institution for at least eight (1) years.
  • An applicant on a Ph. D programme may be considered.
  • A PGDE Certificate is mandatory for applicants who did not pursue Education programmes.

Qualification and Experience: EARLY GRADE EDUCATION

  • An applicant must hold a Terminal Degree (Ph.D.), an MPhil Research Master’s Degree, and a First Degree in Early Grade and must have served as a Lecturer in a College of Education or a recognised Institution for at least eight (8) years.
  • An applicant on Pt: D programme may be considered.
  • A PGDE Certificate is mandatory for applicants who did not pursue Education programmes.

Qualification and Experience: SPECIAL EDUCATION

  • An applicant must hold a Terminal Degree (Ph.D.), an MPhil Research Master’s Degree, and a First Degree in Special Education and must have served as a Lecturer in a College of Education or a recognised institution for at least eight (8) years.
  • An applicant on a PhD programme may be considered
  • A PGDE Certificate is mandatory for applicants who did not pursue Education programmes.

Qualification and Experience: ICT EDUCATION

  • An applicant must hold a terminal degree (Ph. D, an MPhil, a Research Master’s Degree, and a Fest Degree in ICT, and must have served as a Lecturer in a College of Education or a recognised institution for at least eight years.
  • An applicant on a PhD programme may be considered.
  • A PODE Certificate is mandatory for applicants who did not pursue Education programmes.

Qualification and Experience: AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE (AGRONOMY)

  • An applicant must hold a terminal degree (Ph.D.), an MPhil Research Master’s Degree, and a First Degree in Agricultural Science (Agronomy) and must have served as a Lecturer in a College of Education or a recognised institution for at least eight (8) years.
  • An applicant on a Ph.D. programme may be considered.
  • A PGDE Certificate is mandatory for applicants who did not pursue Education programmes.

Qualification and Experience: CLOTHING AND TEXTILES

  • An applicant must hold a terminal degree (Ph.D.), an MPhil Research Master’s Degree, and a First Degree in Clothing and Textiles and must have served as a Lecturer in a College of Education or a recognised Institution for at least eight (8) years.
  • An applicant on a PhD programme may be considered
  • A PGDE Certificate is mandatory for applicants who did not pursue Education programmes.

NON-TEACHING AREAS

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Duties and Responsibilities

  • The accountant shall work under the supervision of the Finance Officer and shall assist in the efficient management of the financial and accounting functions of the College. Specifically, the successful applicant shall assist the Finance Officer in the preparation and implementation of the College’s annual budget and finance plan
  • Prepare periodic financial reports, management accounts, and reconciliations
  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements and other statutory finance reports
  • Assist in maintaining effective internal controls to safeguard the assets and financial resources of the College
  • Support the coordination of external audit exercises and facilitate the implementation of audit recommendations
  • Monitor revenue collection and expenditure to ensure prudent financial management and accountability.
  • Supervise assigned accounting support staff where applicable
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Finance Officer or the Principal

Qualification and Experience

Applicants must

Possess a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related discipline from a recognised and accredited institution.

Be a fully qualified Chartered Accountant and a member in good standing of a recognised professional accounting body such as ICAG, ACCA, or CIMA.

Have at least five (5) years relevant post-qualification experience in accounting, finance, auditing, or financial management, preferably in a tertiary educational institution or a comparable public sector organisation.

Demonstrate sound knowledge of public financial management, budgeting, financial reporting, auditing, taxation, and relevant financial regulators.

Be proficient in the use of Accounting software, integrated financial management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.

Possess excellent analytical, leadership, communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrate a high level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.

JUNIOR ASSISTANT REGISTRAR

Duties and Responsibilities

The Junior Assistant Registrar shall report to the Registrar and assist in the efficient administration of the College, with responsibility for supporting the activities of the General Administration and Consular Section.

The successful applicant shall, among others:

  • Assist in the day-to-day administration of the General Administration and
  • Assist in coordinating protocol and consular services for international students, staff, exchange programmes, and official visitors
  • Prepare official correspondence, reports, memoranda, manuals, and other administrative documents
  • Provide secretarial services to statutory boards, committees, and other committees as assigned
  • Assist in the implementation of new administrative pro regulations, and procedures
  • Maintain official records and ensure proper documentation of administrative and consular activities
  • Assist in organising official ceremonies, meetings, conferences, workshops, and other institutional events
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among academic and administrative units
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the Registrar or the Principal

Qualification and Experience

Applicants must

  • Possess a Master’s degree in Administration, Public Administration, Higher Education Administration, Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, English Language, or a closely related discipline from a recognised and accredited institution
  • Have a background in Law, including possession of an LLB degree, LIM, legal practice experience, and demonstrated competence in legal and regulatory matters.
  • Have at least three (3) years of relevant post-qualification administrative experience in a tertiary educational institution, public service, or a comparable organisation
  • Possess excellent communication, report-writing, organisational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Be proficient in one of the Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant information and communication technology (ICT) applications
  • Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, initiative, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Possess practical experience in legal practice, regulatory compliance, contract administration, or institutional governance
  • Be experienced in protocol, consular services, international relations, or the management of international students
  • Have experience serving as Secretary to Boards, Councils, Statutory Committees, or other official committees
