The Ghana Communication Technology University- GCTU (formerly Ghana Technology University College-GTUC) is now a full-fledged public university, established by the Ghana Communication Technology University Act 2020 (Act 1022).
GCTU is a technology-oriented institution with the mandate to provide higher education in Information and Communication Technology.
The University, which is located in Tesano, Accra, Ghana, offers an enabling environment and culture conducive for teaching, learning, research, and promotes faculty development and academic success.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES
Professor
- Must possess a Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization.
- Must have been appointed as a professor by a recognized university with comparable conditions for appointment/promotion as those of GCTU.
- The conditions of GCTU include a minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Associate Professor and a minimum of fifteen (15) publications in recognized journals; OR
- An Associate Professor seeking appointment to the rank of Professor will first be appointed as an Associate Professor to undergo the University’s promotion process.
Associate Professor
- Must possess a Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization.
- Must have been appointed as an Associate Professor by a recognized university with comparable conditions for appointment/promotion as those of GCTU.
- The conditions of GCTU include a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Senior Lecturer and at least ten (10) publications in recognized journals; OR
- A Senior Lecturer seeking appointment to the rank of Associate Professor will first be appointed as a Senior Lecturer to undergo the University’s promotion process.
Senior Lecturer
- Must possess a Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization.
- Must have been appointed as a Senior Lecturer by a recognized university with comparable conditions for appointment/promotion as those of GCTU.
- The conditions of GCTU include a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Lecturer and at least six (6) publications in recognized journals; OR
- A Lecturer seeking appointment to the rank of Senior Lecturer will first be appointed as a Lecturer to undergo the University’s promotion process.
Lecturer
- Must possess a Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization.
REMUNERATION/CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
- Based on the Single Spine Pay Policy and comparable to the Conditions of Service of Public Universities in Ghana.
