The Ghana Education Service (GES) recruitment process has entered the next important phase, where successful applicants are expected to undergo document verification at their respective Regional Education Offices before appointment letters are issued.
Unlike previous recruitment arrangements where some processes were handled directly from the national level, the current system places greater responsibility on the Regional Education Directorates to verify the documents of successful applicants before completing their appointment procedures.
At the national level, the Ghana Education Service mainly handled the selection process by considering applicants based on the available vacancies submitted by the various regions, the applicant’s programme of study, teaching areas, qualifications, and other recruitment requirements.
The final list of successful applicants was then generated based on the approved vacancies and recruitment criteria.
Following the release of the successful applicants, the next stage is the regional verification and onboarding process.
Successful applicants are expected to report to the regions they selected during the application process, where officials will inspect and validate their documents.
Appointment letters will be issued after applicants complete the required verification processes.
Documents successful applicants should prepare
To ensure a smooth verification process, applicants are advised to prepare the following documents:
   Ghana Card:
- Applicants must present their Ghana Card for identity verification.
- The details on the Ghana Card must correspond with the information provided during the recruitment process.
   Academic Certificates:
Successful applicants should provide their relevant academic certificates, including:
- College of Education certificate
- University certificate
- Other approved professional qualifications
These documents will be checked to confirm that applicants possess the required qualifications for the positions they applied for.
   National Service Certificate:
- Applicants are expected to provide their National Service Certificate as proof of completion of the mandatory national service programme.
National Teaching Council (NTC) Licence Certificate:Â
- Applicants must present their NTC licence certificate to confirm that they have obtained the required professional teaching qualification.
   WASSCE Certificate:
- Applicants may also be required to provide their WASSCE certificates as part of the verification process.
   Birth Certificate:
- A copy of the birth certificate may be required to confirm personal details and ensure consistency across official documents.
   Other Supporting Documents:
Applicants should also be prepared to provide any additional documents requested by the Regional Education Directorate during the verification exercise.
- Application Printout: Successful applicants should carry along a printed copy of their recruitment application details.
- Passport-Sized Photograph: Successful applicants may also be asked to produce recent passport-sized photographs during the regional verification process.
Successful applicants are advised to ensure that all documents contain accurate and matching information.
Differences in names, dates of birth, or other personal details may delay the verification process.
Applicants are also cautioned against presenting fake or altered documents, as such actions may lead to disqualification and possible legal consequences.
The regional verification stage is a crucial part of the recruitment process because it enables the Ghana Education Service to confirm that only qualified applicants who meet all requirements proceed to official appointment.
