GETFund Opens Applications for Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship 2026/2027.
The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has opened applications for its foreign postgraduate scholarship programme for the 2026/2027 academic year.
According to an announcement from the Fund, applications officially opened on April 13, 2026, and will close on April 30, 2026.
The scholarship programme is intended to support qualified Ghanaian students who wish to pursue postgraduate studies in selected universities abroad.
REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS.
Before moving to the next stage, be sure to have the underlisted details scanned copies of;
- Admission Letter from an accredited University (Unconditional & Financial Condition letters only)
- Fee Schedule
- Previous academic certificates (where applicable)
- Previous transcript (where applicable)
- Project or Research proposal (not exceeding 5 pages) (Masters and PhD Applicants)
- Curriculum Vitae
- Academic Referees
- Letter of Recommendation (occupational)
- Support Document from employer for Academic Leave (where applicable)
- National Service certificate. (where applicable)
Application Procedure.
- Prospective applicants are required to complete the entire application process online through the official GETFund scholarship portal at https://scholarships.getfund.gov.gh/
- Applicants must visit the portal and complete the application form by providing the required personal and academic information.
- In addition, candidates are expected to upload scanned copies of all relevant supporting documents for vetting and shortlisting.
- Officials of the Ghana Education Trust Fund explained that only applicants who meet the requirements will be shortlisted and contacted after the vetting process has been completed.
- Further details regarding eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, and other application guidelines are available on the scholarship portal.
Notice to Applicants.
- GETFund has emphasized that all correspondence regarding the scholarship programme will be conducted directly between the Fund and the applicants.
- The management, therefore, advised prospective candidates to rely only on official communication channels throughout the process.
- The Fund also stressed that scholarship applications will only be accepted through the official online portal.
Please Note:
- It is a criminal offence and an automatic disqualification or withdrawal if you provide false or deliberately misleading information when filling out your scholarship application form
- Multiple applications are an instant disqualification
- Any incorrect information uploaded to the platform will result in automatic disqualification
- The GETFund’s sponsorship is for the entire duration of the programme at the time of receiving the sponsorship. So do not apply again if you are already on the GETFund Scholarship.
