  1. Clinical Lecturer in Primary Dental Care at the School of Dentistry

The School of Dentistry is looking for enthusiastic and motivated dental care professionals who are keen to teach our undergraduate students.

You may be expected to undertake teaching, including clinical supervision, practical teaching in the clinical skills laboratory, and the delivery of lectures and tutorials in the school, as directed by the Dean of the School or relevant Academic Lead.

In addition, you must be prepared to be involved in appropriate pastoral care and Academic Advising of students and to take part in the day-to-day running of the School of Dentistry.

All academic staff are obliged to take part in the formal and informal assessment of students as directed by the Dean of the School.

Staff are also obliged to take part in Peer Review of Teaching, attend Academic Unit meetings, and participate in training.

Salary: National Clinical Scale £44,159 – £81,775 pa (pro-rata)

  1. Education Supervisor (Part-time); Ness Gardens.

You will deliver the learning and engagement offer at Ness Botanic Gardens, including but not limited to: school groups, family activities, school holiday offers, and family trials.

You will be proactive, creative, and organised, and have a clear understanding of learning in a variety of contexts.

You will ideally work 2 days a week on an agreed pattern, ideally the same 2 days per week during term time, to assist with school bookings. The post is 0.47 (16 hours per week).

Some flexibility is welcome during school holidays based on planned activities.

This post is offered on a fixed-term basis until February 2028.

4. Mechanical Project Engineer; Estates Management.

 

An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join the University of Liverpool, a prestigious Russell Group university that is home to 22,000 students and over 6,000 academic and professional services employees.

You will report to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, forming part of the Engineering Services Group led by the Head of Engineering Services within the Estates Management Team under the stewardship of the Director of Estates and Infrastructure.

You will provide support to colleagues of Facilities, Residential, and Commercial Services on all construction and maintenance-related projects, overseeing the process of projects being managed by the University’s approved consultants and contractors, with a wide range of value bands.

You will work closely with Facilities, Residential and Commercial Services, Capital and Minor Works Project Managers, and Mechanical/Electrical Consultants and Maintenance Surveyors to ensure projects are delivered to acceptable standards, within the agreed programme and within the approved budget allocation in a safe way, following the Health and Safety policies of the University.

You will also oversee or on an audit basis, the maintenance works undertaken by the University’s Measured Term Contractor to ensure that agreed quality and technical standards are met.

You will also assist Project Managers, Building and Quantity Surveyors with the commissioning and handover process to ensure that building facilities are fit for purpose when handed over to university departments and Facilities Residential and Commercial Services (FRCS).

You should have a recognised Mechanical Services-related qualification (e.g., NVQ 4, HNC, etc).

This is a permanent full-time post, 35 hours per week.

Salary: Grade 7 £39,906 – £46,049 pa

  1. Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry.

The Department of Chemistry at Liverpool is one of the most exciting places in the UK to study or research Chemistry.

We are looking to appoint the next Head of Department to lead and shape the future direction of our world-leading Chemistry Department and deliver ambitious plans to develop the Chemistry estate.

  1. Research Technician Materials Chemistry

A Research Technician position is available in the research group of Professor Andy Cooper.

You will support all our laboratory activities, including chemistry as well as robotics experiments, and work closely with postdoctoral researchers, PhD students, and collaborators.

Daily activities will include assistance with Health & Safety procedures, laboratory management, facilities, and equipment maintenance.

You should be educated to BTEC Higher Level or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline and have a flexible attitude to work and working hours.

Some experience in a range of standard laboratory procedures/analytical techniques and Health & Safety is required; skills in electronic and/or hardware engineering and workshop skills would be advantageous.

The role would be ideal for a recent college graduate or someone who would like to transition into academic research and gain experience in how to run large multidisciplinary chemistry facilities.

7. Resident in Equine Internal Medicine; Equine Clinical Science.

This 3-year residency programme is supported by and based in the Philip Leverhulme Equine Hospital (PLEH) at the University of Liverpool’s Leahurst Campus on the Wirral.

The PLEH is a large, well-equipped hospital that is able to diagnose and treat a variety of equine disorders to a high standard.

The Hospital has a large (approx. 1,500 cases per year) and diverse caseload of both elective and emergency cases.

You will be appointed primarily to support clinical academic activities, while you will concurrently receive a broad training in equine medicine, leading to eligibility to sit the ECEIM diploma in equine medicine at a later date.

Your role within the PLEH is to support clinical activities, rotation teaching, and research, as well as CPD/Postgraduate education when required.

You will be involved in the daily small group teaching of fourth and final year veterinary undergraduates during clinical rotations.

You will be involved in the initial evaluation and diagnostic work-up of cases, both during normal working hours and as a participant in the out-of-hours rota.

You will be expected to undertake research projects, from conception to delivering output, working collaboratively with colleagues.

You should hold RCVS membership to practice in the UK by the time you start in the role.

Salary: £33,951 pa (plus OOH allowance and 14.5% employer’s pension contribution)

  1. Senior Lecturer in Equine Anaesthesia; Equine Clinical Science

The Department of Equine Clinical Science, School of Veterinary Science, University of Liverpool, seeks to appoint a veterinary surgeon (MRCVS or eligible to be registered by the start of appointment) with extensive experience of equine anaesthesia in a hospital setting.

This is an academic position with the primary role around clinical teaching and the caseload on which it is dependant and as such, this post should be attractive to experienced colleagues from clinical practice who have not undergone traditional residency training but are interested in working within a University equine teaching hospital in a multidisciplinary clinical environment, or those colleagues who have undergone specialist veterinary anaesthesia training and hold or are eligible to be examined for a Diploma in Veterinary Anaesthesia & Analgesia (ECVAA/ACVAA or equivalent).

You will have a genuine interest in an academic career, and an interest and experience in both teaching and clinical research.

The role is to provide and develop clinical services in equine anaesthesia in the Equine Hospital, to maintain and develop excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate student experience, and carry out clinical research to support clinical and teaching activities.

Salary: Grade 8 £47,389 – £59,966 pa or Grade 9 £61,759 – £75,917 pa (plus OOH supplement, CPD allowance and membership of a generous pension scheme)

The focus of the Service Desk Support Analyst role is to provide proactive technical support to customers using a range of contact methods, including telephone, email, personal callers, and online resources.

You will provide efficient technical service, ensuring optimal organisation, maintenance, and preparation of teaching/assessment spaces/equipment.

You will use and support specialist technologies and assist students and academic staff before, during, and after teaching sessions, handle routine cleaning and maintenance, and order consumables.

The role is varied, involving both independent work and teamwork.

  1. Veterinary Nurse Specialising in Anaesthesia; Small Animal Clinical Science.

This post is based at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital at the Leahurst Campus near Neston, Wirral.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the anaesthesia team in our busy state-of-the-art hospital.

You will be predominantly based in theatre and diagnostic imaging, providing the delivery of anaesthesia and analgesia to our diverse referral caseload, from Soft Tissue Surgery, Neurology, Orthopaedics, Diagnostic Imaging, Oncology, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Dermatology.

The nurse will be involved in a range of anaesthesia and analgesia techniques, such as monitoring anaesthesia, locoregional techniques, infusions, and pain scoring.

And will be using the state-of-the-art monitoring equipment, including blood gas analysis, intra-arterial (invasive) blood pressure monitoring, capnography, and ECG, to ensure the best possible care for our patients.

You will be a qualified Veterinary Nurse with relevant experience in anaesthesia.

You must be flexible in shift patterns, and you will be required to be on the nursing rota for weekends, Bank holidays, and University closed days.

The hours of work will be 35 hours a week, plus 26 days’ holiday, pension, and additional benefits
