Recruitment 2026: West End University College (WEUC) Invites Applications for Open Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff Positions.

 

West End University College (WEUC) is a private university in Ghana that is accredited by GTEC.

West End University College (WEUC) is a forward-focused independent, non-denominational, co-educational tertiary institution established in 2010.

It is situated in the West End of Accra, the capital of Ghana. It has an urban setting at Ngleshie-Amanfro, off the Weija-Kasoa Highway, about 30 kilometres from the city of Accra.

The University College, which is accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission and affiliated to the University of Cape Coast (UCC), was incorporated under the Ghana Companies Code 1963 (Act 179) on January 21, 2010.

As part of its growth and expansion strategy, the institution hereby invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following positions:

TEACHING STAFF POSITIONS

Qualifications

 Professors

  • Candidates must possess an MPhil/MSc and preferably a PhD in the relevant areas of specialisation.
  • In addition, they must have a considerable number of years of teaching/research experience at a university or a comparable institution with not less than fifteen (15) refereed publications since appointment as Lecturer.

Associate Professors

  • Same as for Professors, but with at least ten (10) refereed publications since appointment as Lecturer.
  • Candidates must have taught for a minimum of three (3) years as Senior Lecturer

Senior Lecturers

  • Candidates must possess a PhD/MPhil/MSc with at least three (3) years teaching/research experience in the relevant areas of specialisation, having made at least five (5) publications in their areas of specialisation.

Lecturers

  • Candidates must possess a PhD/MPhil/MSc with at least two (2) years teaching/ research experience in the relevant areas of specialisation, having made at least two (2) publications in their areas of specialisation.

Assistant Lecturers

  • Candidates must possess a minimum of an MPhil/MSc.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Successful candidates will be required to teach courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels;
  • Supervise graduate and undergraduate research and project work/dissertations and offer academic counselling to students.
  • In addition, candidates will be expected to contribute regularly to knowledge in their fields by publishing in refereed journals or with reputable publishing houses. Serving the Faculty and department in multiple ways, including committee work, will be expected

NON-TEACHING STAFF

Finance Officer: Qualifications & Experience

A person seeking appointment as Finance Officer must:

  • Have a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
  • Have a professional qualification of either CA Ghana, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent.
  • Have at least 3 years of post-qualification experience, preferably within a higher education institution or public sector environment.
  • Be proficient in accounting software.

Internal Auditor: Qualifications & Experience

A person seeking appointment as Internal Auditor must:

  • Have a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Auditing, or a related field.
  • Hold a professional qualification in CA Ghana, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent.
  • Have at least 3 years of auditing experience, preferably within a higher education institution or public sector environment.
  • Have strong knowledge of Ghanaian financial regulations, Internal Audit Agency guidelines, and tertiary education compliance frameworks.
  • Be proficient in the use of QuickBooks accounting software

Assistant Registrar: Qualification and Experience

A person seeking appointment as Assistant Registrar must:

  • Hold at least a Master’s degree, preferably in Administration, Human Resource, Management, Communication, Marketing, Psychology or related field.
  • Have a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience, preferably in an academic environment.
  • Be computer literate and good at report/minutes writing
  • Have the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Senior/Administrative Assistant

A person seeking appointment as Senior/ Administrative Assistant must:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Secretarial Studies, Business Administration, Publishing Studies, Social Sciences, Office Management, or a related field.
  • Have at least 2 years of post-qualification executive-level administrative or secretarial experience, preferably in an academic institution.
  • Have strong knowledge of office administration, communication protocols, and document management.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and digital workflow tools.

Facilities Officer: Qualification and Experience

A person seeking appointment as Facilities Officer must:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience; or
  • Have an HND in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience
  • Have working experience in project management, safety compliance, and property maintenance.
  • Know local building codes, environmental laws, and safety regulations.
