Police Declare Arabic Tutor Wanted for Allegedly Defiling Two Minors
The Western Regional Police Command has declared one Sule Anas wanted in connection with allegations of defilement and unnatural carnal knowledge involving two minors at Fijai Zongo Central near Sekondi in the Western Region.
In a statement issued on Thursday, May 21, 2026, the Command said preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect, who worked as an Arabic tutor, allegedly lured the minors into a storeroom within a mosque under the pretext of carrying out spiritual cleansing, where the offences are believed to have occurred.
According to the statement, Sule Anas had been engaged by leaders of the Fijai Zongo Central community to teach Arabic to children during weekend classes.
“Police investigation indicates that the suspect lured victims into a store room inside the mosque with the pretext of doing spiritual cleansing for them and ended up sodomizing and defiling the minors” the statement said.
The police further disclosed that the Gender Court in Sekondi issued a warrant for his arrest on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
The Command described the suspect as fair in complexion and about 5.7 feet tall, adding that he is believed to have fled to neighbouring countries, including Côte d’Ivoire and Togo.
The Police is therefore urging the public to assist in tracing him. Any person with credible information is advised to contact the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU), report to the nearest police station, or call emergency numbers 191 or 112.
