Ghana Pushes Stronger Legal Frameworks for Digital Innovation at TechLaw Conference 2026
The Deputy Minister for Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Hon. Mohammed Adams Sukparu (MP), on Thursday, 29th, 2026, underscored the government’s commitment to building robust legal and policy frameworks to support Ghana’s digital transformation.
Speaking on behalf of the Sector Minister, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP), at the TechLaw Conference 2026 and the launch of AITLAP Africa at the University of Ghana School of Law, Hon. Sukparu described the convergence of law, technology, and innovation as a defining force shaping Ghana’s development.
He noted that the establishment of AITLAP Africa is timely and aligns with government efforts to strengthen regulations in areas such as fintech, e-commerce, data protection, cybersecurity, and artificial intelligence.
According to him, effective collaboration between legal experts, technologists, and policymakers is critical to ensuring that innovation remains inclusive, secure, and globally competitive.
The Deputy Minister highlighted artificial intelligence as a growing driver of efficiency in financial services, legal practice, and public administration, stressing the need for ethical standards and forward-looking laws to guide its adoption.
He reaffirmed the Ministry’s open-door policy and pledged support for partnerships with AITLAP Africa to advance research, capacity building, and public awareness on digital rights and emerging technologies, urging stakeholders to play active roles in shaping Ghana’s digital future.
