The general public is hereby informed that Wednesday, 27th   May 2026, marks Eid-Ul-Adha, which is a Statutory Public Holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country.

Eid ul-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is the second and holier of the two main Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide.

It honours Prophet Ibrahim’s absolute obedience to Allah when he showed a willingness to sacrifice his son, before Allah provided a ram to be sacrificed instead.
