The Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU), formerly Ghana Technology University College (GTUC), is now a full-fledged public University, established by the Ghana Communication Technology University Act 2020 (Act 1022).

GCTU is a technology-oriented institution with the mandate to provide higher education in Information and Communication Technology.

The University, which is located in Tesano, Accra, Ghana, offers an enabling environment and culture conducive for teaching, learning, research, and promotes faculty development and academic success.

The academic positions at the faculty of engineering are:

1. Professor — Faculty of Engineering.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for appointment to the rank of Professor in any of the following departments within the Faculty of Engineering:

• Department of Telecommunications Engineering
• Department of Computer Engineering
• Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• Department of Mathematics and Statistics

An applicant should state the Rank and Department he/she wishes to apply for as the title of the application letter (e.g. APPLICATION FOR THE POSITION OF A PROFESSOR IN THE DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING).

Requirements and Qualifications

• Must possess a Ph.D. in the relevant area of specialization.
• Must have been appointed as a professor by a recognized university with comparable conditions for appointment/promotion as those of GCTU. The conditions of GCTU include a minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Associate Professor and a minimum of fifteen (15) publications in recognized journals; OR
• An Associate Professor seeking appointment to the rank of Professor will first be appointed as an Associate Professor to undergo the University’s promotion process.

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching, supervision, research, community service, and faculty development responsibilities consistent with the rank of Professor at a public University in Ghana.

• Must have been appointed as an Associate Professor by a recognized university with comparable conditions for appointment/promotion as those of GCTU.
• The conditions of GCTU include a minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Senior Lecturer and at least ten (10) publications in recognized journals; OR
• A Senior Lecturer seeking appointment to the rank of Associate Professor will first be appointed as a Senior Lecturer to undergo the University’s promotion process.
