Nephew arrested for beheading 65-year-old Aunt at Breman Benin.
Residents of Breman Benin in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District were left in shock after a 65-year-old woman, Gladys Abena, was gruesomely murdered and beheaded by her nephew.
The incident happened on Monday, October 20, 2025. According to witnesses, the suspect, identified as Kojo Sam, forced his way into his aunt’s room armed with a pestle. He reportedly struck her several times, dragged her outside, stabbed her repeatedly, and then beheaded her.
Family members and neighbours said the attack did not come entirely as a surprise. They revealed that Sam had threatened to kill his aunt in the past during family disputes, but relatives decided to settle the matter privately rather than involve the police.
The brutal killing has left the community shaken, with many questionings why earlier warnings were ignored. Police have begun investigations into the incident.
