Cocoa Farmers’ children to benefit from new Tertiary Scholarship in 2026.

The Government of Ghana has announced a new scholarship scheme that will give children of cocoa farmers the opportunity to pursue tertiary education, beginning from the 2026–2027 academic year.

Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson described the initiative as a critical step toward supporting farming families who form the backbone of the nation’s economy.

He said the programme is designed to ease the financial burden on parents who toil in cocoa farms and to provide their children with the chance to achieve higher education and better opportunities.

The scheme, titled Education for Cocoa Farmers’ Children, will cover the cost of tertiary studies for eligible applicants, offering what government describes as a pathway to “a brighter future for farming families.”
