The West African Examinations Council (WAEC), a sub-regional organisation responsible for conducting various examinations in the English-speaking West African Countries, invites applications from suitably qualified Ghanaians to fill the following vacant positions at the Ghana National Office.
#01. ASSISTANT REGISTRARS II.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities.
Successful applicants will be assigned duties in the Test Development or Test Administration Division and will be required to perform the following duties, among others:
- Develop papers for examinations conducted by the Council.
- Assist in the conduct of all examinations conducted by the Council.
- Recruit examiners for the Council’s examinations.
- Organise and supervise Coordination and Moderation Meetings.
- Handle issues that may arise from both the arrangements and conduct of the Council’s examinations.
- Assist in formulating and implementing policies and programmes relating to the assigned division.

Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants should possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (at least Second-Class Lower Division) from a recognised University in the relevant discipline.
- Applicants must have at least three (3) years of relevant post-qualification teaching experience in a reputable institution.
- A Master’s Degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation will be an added advantage.
#02. ASSISTANT REGISTRAR II (A.T.)
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The role blends information technology expertise with research and assessment functions, focusing on developing, managing, and improving digital aptitude testing systems and data processes.
The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties, among others:
- Assist in the design, development, and digitisation of aptitude tests
- Creating and maintaining computer-based testing (CBT) platforms
- Formatting and organising test items in digital systems
- Managing test data, candidate records, and research datasets
- Supporting psychometric analysis (e.g., item performance, scoring patterns)
- Maintaining testing software, databases, and internal systems, troubleshooting technical issues during test administration
- Ensuring systems are secure, reliable, and efficient
- Assisting researchers with data collection, processing, and visualisation.
- Using IT tools to support statistical analysis and reporting
- Helping implement technology-based research methods
- Customising internal applications or tools for item banks, automated scoring, and candidate tracking systems
- Supporting test integrity and security measures
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of post-graduation proven work experience as an IT Officer or similar role, demonstrating expertise in managing IT infrastructure and providing technical support.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with cloud-based services and technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
#03. NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR II
Specific Duties and Responsibilities.
The successful applicants will be required to perform the following duties, among others, in the Information and Communication Technology Division:
- Manage and maintain the Council’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software systems.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, and peripheral devices.
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the Council’s data by implementing robust backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement measures to optimise network efficiency.
- Collaborate with the various departments to identify IT requirements, evaluate potential solutions, and implement new systems or upgrades.
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure compliance with security protocols and industry best practices.
- Stay up to date with the latest technology trends, evaluate their potential impact, and make recommendations for IT improvements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including system configurations, troubleshooting guides, and user manuals.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology/computer science/computer engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of post-graduation proven work experience as an IT Officer or similar role, demonstrating expertise in managing IT infrastructure and providing technical support.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, networking, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with network administration and security protocols.
- Familiarity with cloud-based services and technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) will be an added advantage.
#04. LEGAL OFFICER II
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will report to the Head, Legal Department, and will be required to perform the following duties, among others:
- Undertake due diligence compliance tasks assigned.
- Conduct legal research on matters required.
- Ensure conformity with statutory government practices.
- Provide advisory services on legal matters.
- Assist in the development of guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Perform legal vetting of documents and commercial contracts.
- Conduct risk analysis and mitigation.
- Represent the Council in court and before quasi-judicial bodies.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Laws degree from a recognised University.
- Be a member of the Ghana Bar Association
- Have at least three years of relevant post-call experience
#05. STORES AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT OFFICER I
Specific Duties and Responsibilities.
The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties, among others:
- Receiving, inspecting, recording, storing, preserving, and issuing materials, equipment, and supplies in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintaining accurate inventory records through approved inventory management systems and ensuring timely updates of stock movements.
- Conducting periodic and annual stock-taking exercises, reconciling inventory balances, and investigating stock variances.
- Monitoring stock levels and initiating timely replenishment to prevent stock shortages, overstocking, or obsolescence.
- Ensuring the safe custody, security, preservation, and proper storage of all inventory items.
- Supervising, mentoring, training, and evaluating staff within the Stores Unit to improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Performing any other official duties that Management may assign.
Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualification and Experience
- First Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, B-Tech in Procurement (Minimum, Second Class Lower),
- Be a Chartered Member of the Institute of Procurement and Supply (MICPS) or possess an equivalent professional qualification such as CIPS, with at least seven (7) years of professional membership, and a Master’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
- Any additional certificate in the relevant area will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of ten (10) years’ relevant post-qualification experience in stores, warehouse, inventory management, procurement, or supply chain management.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in stores and inventory management.
- Demonstrable experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, records management, stock verification, and internal control systems.
- Experience in a large public sector institution or reputable private Organisation will be an added advantage.

#06. ACCOUNTANT II
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties, among others, in the Finance Division:
- Assist in the preparation of budgets, financial statements, and cost analysis.
- Analyse revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget controls.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the Council.
- Interact with Internal and External Auditors in completing audits.
- Prepare reports for the Council’s meetings.
- Accounting for the Council’s Funds for Examination.
- Supervision of all Accounts staff in his/her office.
- Serve as a statutory member on the Management Committee meetings.
- Perform other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants should possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Commerce/Accounting degree (at least second class lower) or a related field of study.
- Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ghana (ICAG) or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is an added advantage.
- Have at least three (3) years of relevant post-qualification work experience in a reputable institution.
#07. HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER II.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities.
The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties, among others:
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of Human Resource policies and programmes.
- Assist in the handling of staff development and management issues.
- Coordinate human resource matters relating to employees’ records.
- Coordinate staff performance management processes.
- Preparation of human resource management reports.
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants should possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Commerce/Accounting degree (at least second class lower) or a related field of study.
- Membership of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ghana (ICAG) or the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) is an added advantage.
- Have at least three (3) years of relevant post-qualification work experience in a reputable institution.
