The Government of Jamaica, in collaboration with the Government of Ghana, has announced a recruitment exercise for qualified medical and nursing professionals seeking employment opportunities in Jamaica.
The initiative aims to attract experienced healthcare personnel to support Jamaica’s health sector while providing Ghanaian professionals with an opportunity to advance their careers in an international healthcare environment.
According to the announcement, applications are being invited from suitably qualified candidates in various specialist nursing and medical fields.

- Neonatology Nursing

- Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife
Physicians (Fellowship Level)

Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet the regulatory requirements of the Medical and Dental Council and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana.
Additionally, candidates are required to possess at least two years of post-basic professional working experience in their respective fields.
Required Documents
Prospective applicants must present the following documents:
- Original and two photocopies of academic certificates.
- Original and two photocopies of certificates of good standing from the relevant professional regulatory body.
- Current and previous appointment letters.
- Original and two photocopies of a Police Clearance Certificate issued by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service covering the immediate past six months.
- Original and two photocopies of a Change of Name Certificate, where applicable.
- Original and two photocopies of an Immunisation Certificate.
- Original and two photocopies of a Birth Certificate.
- Two copies of an updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Two reference letters dated within the last six months.
- A recent passport-size photograph with a white background.
- Biodata page of a passport with a minimum validity of two years.
- Completed application form.
- Any other relevant supporting documents.
Application Process
The Ministry of Health has indicated that the recruitment exercise commenced on Monday, June 1, 2026, and will close on Friday, June 5, 2026.
Interested applicants are required to submit their applications through the Ministry of Health Recruitment Portal.

Candidates are advised to ensure that all required documents, including certified copies of qualifications and professional registration certificates, are available on the day of their scheduled interview.
The Ministry further noted that incomplete or unsuitable applications will not be considered.
