Student Job in Biocommunication: Lab Maintenance Assistant at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
The position is offered in the Biocommunication Group at ETH Zürich, led by Professor Consuelo De Moraes, which examines plant-insect interactions through behaviour, chemistry, and molecular techniques.
In this position, you will have the opportunity to get experience working in a laboratory environment, focusing on general laboratory maintenance. Once you complete your training, the position allows for independence and responsibility, and we provide as much flexibility as possible on working hours and days.
The job mainly involves:
- Equipment cleaning, organisation, and preparation
- Potting and watering plants
- Assisting with insect rearing
- Experiment preparation
The position is for approx. 15-18 hours per month (3-5 hours spread flexibly across 2-3 days per week).
The position is available on a long-term basis, and ideally, we are looking for a student who would want to stay for more than 6 months.
Qualification.
- You must be a current Bachelor’s or Master’s student at ETH or UZH
- Fluent in English
- Comfortable working with insects
