Eligibility Criteria.

Applicants for the Dorrance Scholarship must meet the following requirements:

  • Be an Arizona resident
  • Be a high school senior
  • Be a first-generation college student (neither parent has earned a four-year college degree)
  • Demonstrate financial need (FAFSA required)
  • Have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Achieve at least 1110 on the SAT or 22 on the ACT
  • Plan to enroll full-time and live on campus at ASU–Tempe, NAU–Flagstaff, or UA–Tucson

Application Procedure.

Applicants must carefully follow the multi-step application process:

  • Complete the FAFSA and submit it well before the deadline

Gather required documents:

  • High school transcript
  • SAT or ACT scores
  • FAFSA Student Summary
  • Complete and submit the Dorrance Scholarship Application before February 04 (Dates may vary)

Semi-finalists will be asked to submit:

  • Additional application materials
  • Writing samples
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Finalists must attend an in-person interview in Tempe, Arizona
  • Selected recipients must attend the required Orientation and Bridge Programs
