Labone SHS teacher charged with indecent assault on 16-year-old student.
A 45-year-old French teacher at the Labone Senior High School, Godwin Adigbli is facing a charge of indecent assault after allegedly molesting a female student of the school.
The French teacher has pleaded not guilty to the charge and has been granted a bail of GHC 50,000 with two sureties.
Appearing before the district court at the Domestic Violence and Victim’s Support Unit at the Police Headquarters in Accra, the prosecution indicated that the 45-year-old inserted his fingers into the private parts of the 16-year-old female student.
Per the brief facts, the prosecution alleged that Godwin admitted to “inserting his fingers into the victim’s vagina and kissed her for a few minutes in the French lab of the school on August 28.”
He was subsequently arrested on September 1, 2025 after the incident was reported to school authorities and the guardians of the victim.
In court on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, lawyers of the Labone SHS French teacher, led by Ernest Gbesemete pleaded for bail for the accused, noting that he had cooperated with investigators and was on a Police enquiry bail.
The prosecution did not oppose the bail application but prayed that he reports to the Police regularly for investigations.
The court then granted Godwin Adigbli a GHC50,000 bail with two sureties to be justified.
The court also ordered him to report to the Police every two weeks at the Cantonment Police station until the final determination of the case.
The Presiding judge ordered the prosecution to file their disclosures before the next hearing and adjourned the case to December 10 for continuation.
