NSA to begin new registration on October 8; cancels all registrations completed in June.

The National Service Authority (NSA) has announced that registration for the 2025/2026 service year will officially reopen on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, after a months-long suspension to overhaul its digital platform.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, Acting Director-General Ruth Dela Seddoh said all prospective national service personnel must register again on a newly built and more secure digital system, following the suspension of the old platform earlier this year.

“The 2025–2026 National Service Registration will open from Wednesday, 8th October 2025, and end on Wednesday, 15th October 2025,” she announced.

“All registrants who registered in June 2025 will need to register again, as the previous registrations are now considered null and void.

According to her, the earlier registration exercise conducted in June was compromised by data integrity issues uncovered during a forensic audit.

“When the system was opened in June, the Authority recorded a little over 12,000 registrants,” she explained.

“However, several issues related to questionable data were discovered, including inconsistencies in personal details. Over 2,000 registrants didn’t have accurate information. We cannot compromise on integrity.”

Ms. Seddoh assured affected applicants that their registration fees will be refunded, even though they must re-register on the new system.

The Acting Director-General said the new registration system is part of a broader digital reform meant to eliminate payroll fraud, strengthen transparency, and make the national service process more efficient.

“The new posting system has been rebuilt to make every stage of the process seamless, more transparent, and easier to manage,” she said.

“It integrates directly with the National Identification Database to verify personnel identity and eliminate ghost names and duplicate records.”

The revamped platform will handle everything from enrolment and postings to allowance payments, all within one secure online environment.

It also comes with a new NSS Connect mobile app, through which personnel can track postings, allowances, and receive updates.

Ms. Seddoh also confirmed that, in line with a presidential directive, all national service personnel will undergo basic military training aimed at building discipline and national pride.

“Our goal is for this training to instil discipline, foster a sense of national pride, and prepare our young people to become future leaders,” she said.

In addition, the Authority is introducing a digital skills training programme covering areas like digital marketing, website development, and cybersecurity to prepare graduates for the modern job market.

Ms. Seddoh warned prospective service personnel to be cautious of fake NSS websites circulating online.

“We’ve counted about seven fake websites claiming to be National Service sites,” she cautioned.

“Please pay attention and log on to the correct website – [www.gnsa.gov.gh](http://www.gnsa.gov.gh) – so you are not defrauded.”

She added that the new system has been designed to resist attacks from dishonest agents but urged applicants to verify information through the Authority’s official social media pages or support lines

The official start date for the 2025/2026 national service year is Monday, November 3, 2025.

“We expect every eligible person who completes registration and posting to be at post on Monday, 3rd November 2025,” she said.

Ms. Seddoh expressed appreciation to the governing board and the transition committee for completing the migration to the new digital platform, describing the moment as the start of “a new chapter” for national service in Ghana.

“National service will not just be a year of obligation – it will be a year of opportunities and growth,” she noted.

.“We are resetting national service. A new chapter begins now.”
