The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) is a German political foundation committed to fostering academic excellence and advancing democratic values.

The Friedrich Ebert Foundation Scholarship 2025–26 is a fully funded award open to international students pursuing Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degrees at state-recognized universities across Germany.

With up to 40 scholarships awarded each year, the foundation seeks students who not only excel academically but also demonstrate strong leadership and civic engagement.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, with a final deadline of 30 November 2025.

For Undergraduate & Master’s Degree Applicants:

Required Documents

Depending on your academic level, you’ll need to prepare:

For Undergraduate Students:

  • Two reference reports from high school or vocational teachers

For Master’s Students:

  • Two academic recommendation letters from university professors

For PhD Candidates:

  • A detailed academic reference from your dissertation supervisor
  • An additional recommendation from another academic expert

This is a fully funded scholarship that covers the major costs associated with studying in Germany:

    Monthly Stipend:

  • €750 for undergraduate and diploma students
  • €850 for master’s students
  • Health Insurance: Full coverage included
  • Family Allowance: €276/month for scholars with children
  • Study-Related Support: Funding for books, study materials, and language courses
  • Access to FES Network: Events, seminars, training, and alumni connections
