Recruitment into the Internal Security Agencies: Addressing Emerging Concerns Around the Conduct of the Online AI-Proctored Aptitude Test for CSERP 2025/26.

The Ministry of the Interior and all the Recruiting Agencies wish to congratulate all applicants for making it to the Aptitude Test stage of the process.

The online aptitude test, which commenced on 10th February 2026, has been generally successful with over 80% of Category A applicants, which includes “NVTI/Tradesmen/Sportsmen/Other Certificates”, completing the test.

However, the Ministry and its stakeholder Agencies have observed some concerns and applicant-related errors that are currently affecting the smooth and successful conduct of the online aptitude test.

These include:

Applicant Browser Related Issues:

From the attached image (Image A), some applicants receive the prompt “Test Completed Successfully” even though they have not taken the test.

This has been due to a number of applicant-related actions.

The remedial actions are as follows:

Remedial Actions (1)

  • All affected applicants are to strictly use desktop computers/laptops with the Google Chrome browser installed.
  • Go to browser settings, enable JavaScript and allow all third-party cookies, then clear all cookies/cache.
  • All affected applicants have been identified, and an SMS will be sent to all applicants to retake the test from Friday, 13 Feb 2026, to Sunday, 15 February 2026.

NB: All applicants are to note that this extended timeline for Category A applicants does not affect the original schedule for Category B Applicants which includes “First Degree, Master’s degree, professionals, and Degree General Duty Applicants.

Facial Recognition & Authentication Issues:

Applicants are hereby reminded that even though the test is to be taken from the comfort of their homes, an advanced AI proctoring model has been trained extensively and deployed to ensure that the test is taken under strict remote supervision without consulting any third-party materials.

Thus, any attempts to outsmart the system, which implies a loss of facial alignment with the camera device, may be considered as disrupting the flow of the test and flagged for review.

The following remedial actions are to guide applicants on facial recognition and alignment-related issues.

Remedial Action (2)

  • Applicants are advised to keep their head and body aligned in the manner authenticated at the enrolment phase before the commencement of the test.
  • Applicants are permitted to look off the screen intermittently for quick calculations on paper or with a calculator for a maximum of 20 seconds per question before the questions on the applicant’s screen go into a freeze mode. Questions will automatically unfreeze once the desired head and face alignments are detected.
  • Applicants are reminded that random screenshots will be taken while they look off the screen for 20 seconds and will be subjected to the AI proctoring review before the publication of test results.
  • Applicants are further cautioned against opening additional browser tabs, attempting to copy the questions off the exam screen, and employing crude means to outsmart the system. All such violations will be detected, recorded, and could affect the ultimate outcome of the test.

Applicants’ Biometric Facial Scan Mismatches:

It has been observed that most applicants, currently unable to pass the enrolment and verification process of the test, uploaded inappropriate, low-quality, wrong dimension, and in some cases full-size photos, in clear defiance of the published passport photo details published as part of the online application phase.

Applicants are hereby reminded that the enrolment process compares the applicant’s live image to what was submitted at the online application phase to ascertain the true identity of the test taker.

Therefore, any applicant who uploaded “just” any photo as shown in the attached images on the next 2 pages will not be able to proceed with the enrolment process until the following remedial actions are carried out.

Remedial Action (3)

  • All affected applicants are to sign into the applicant portal and use the upload verification passport photo button on the left pane, to upload an approved passport photo with dimensions 530 X 413 pixels on a red or white background in Jpeg or PNG picture formats.
  • After successfully uploading the prescribed photo size and format, click on the Start Test and commence the enrolment process.
  • All affected applicants should be able to take the test after carrying out (a) and (b) above.

Sample cases of applicants uploading wrong, poor-quality, and unapproved photos are shown below:

Use of Mobile Phones/Devices:

  • Applicants are to note that mobile devices cannot be used to access the Test.
  • The reason is to ensure that no phone calls disrupt the test session since phone calls ordinarily disrupt data connectivity and may not support the full range of AI-embedded tools for verification and violation detection.

Remedial Action (4)

  • Use only Laptops or desktop computers with standby power, such as UPS.

Sharing of Supposed Examination Questions on social media:

  • The Ministry of the Interior and stakeholder Agencies have noted a trend of some social media accounts, especially on TikTok, supposedly providing guidance and offering to solve probable questions with the general public.
  • The Ministry hereby clarifies that it has not authorised any social media account or persons to engage the public in the above-named regard except for the Media and Public Relations offices of the Recruiting Agencies and the technology implementation partner, TrybeNet Limited, who may directly or indirectly engage the public on matters related to the conduct of the entire recruitment process.

Publication of Exam Results:

  • Applicants are to note that the entire test will be screened by the Auto Proctoring AI system, which will analyse all random screenshots taken during the test, voice and noise captured during the exam, and ultimately declare the verdict of the test per applicant.
  • Therefore, the results of the online application will be made available on the applicant’s portal after 23rd February 2026.
  • Applicants are further encouraged to call the respective agency recruitment teams on the following contacts per service for any other concerns not captured in this release.
