Pursuant to Standing Order 242 of the Standing Orders of Parliament of Ghana, the Committee on Works and Housing of Parliament intends to assess defective, abandoned, and stalled projects and structures across the country as part of its oversight responsibilities.

This exercise has become necessary following growing concerns about safety, economic impact, and environmental risks associated with such projects, particularly in light of recent incidents involving structural failures.

The Committee hereby invites the general public, civil society organisations, professional bodies, and all stakeholders to submit information on any defective, abandoned, or stalled projects and structures within their communities.

The Committee is particularly interested in:

  • Detective abandoned government projects (e.g., schools, hospitals, housing, office buildings)
  • Uncompleted private developments
  • Structures located on watercourses, drainage channels, or flood-prone areas
  • Projects that pose safety risks to the public

Submissions should include (where possible):

  • Location (Region, District, Town/Community)
  • Type of project or structure
  • Current condition/status
  • Duration of abandonment
  • Ownership (if known)
  • Any risks or concerns (e.g., structural weakness, flooding, public safety)

All submissions should be addressed to:

  • The Clerk to the Committee on Works and Housing, Mezzanine Floor, Job 600, Annex Parliament House, or
  • Email: nasopoku@parliament.gh

The deadline for the submission of information is Friday, 17 April, 2026.
