Parents and Teachers petition for removal of Anloga Education Director.
Parents, teachers, and other education stakeholders in Anloga have petitioned for the removal of the District Education Director, Dominic Dzanado, over what they describe as mismanagement and abuse of office.
The action follows growing concerns about the handling of examination processes, the collection and use of examination fees, and what they say is interference in responsibilities that should be carried out by teachers.
Speaking to Citi News, the convenor of the group, Samuel Amaglo, called on the Ghana Education Service to intervene, ensure accountability and transparency, and restore confidence in the administration of education in the district.
“We teachers have a code of conduct that governs the profession. Unfortunately, Mr Dzanado, as the district director, has not adhered to these guidelines. For example, setting end-of-term examinations is the responsibility of teachers, as prescribed in our code of conduct, but he has taken over this duty,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Anloga District Director of Education, Dominic Dzanado, said he will respond appropriately when served with the petition
‘I’m yet to receive the petition and then know the concerns that might have been raised in the petition and then respond to them appropriately,” she said.
