#01. JOB VACANCY: SENIOR LEGAL OFFICER
The National Media Commission (NMC) is looking for a suitably qualified, goal-oriented, and results-driven person with exceptional leadership qualities for appointment to the position of: SENIOR LEGAL OFFICER
Job Purpose:
To provide technical and operational support in the management of legal matters for the achievement of the objectives of the Commission.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepares legal instruments such as contracts, loan agreements, and leases for the Commission
- Liaises with divisional heads to ensure that regulatory and compliance requirements are properly adhered to
- Provides legal advice to management in the conduct of the business of the Commission
- Manages the Commission’s legal Affairs and ensures compliance with statutory legislation and laid down policies
- Represents the Commission on legal issues that may be brought before a court of law and tribunal.
- Compiles cases for consideration and appropriate action.
- Provides technical advice to functional heads in matters relating to risk management and compliance to prevent regulatory breaches and regulatory fines.
- Facilitates the formulation of risk management and compliance policies and ensures compliance with statutory policies
- Supervises the compliance with the relevant Media policies, legal and regulatory provisions by media enterprises, MDAS/MMDAS
- Collates data for the preparation of the annual action plan and budget for the Unit.
- Collates data for the development of the annual and other periodic reports for the Unit.
- Arbitrations in conflict situations involving NMC and third parties.
Qualifications And Experience
Direct Entry
- A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) from an accredited tertiary institution.
- A Barrister at Law (BL) from an accredited tertiary institution.
- Must have been called to the Ghana Bar
- A minimum of four (4) years post-call relevant work experience in a reputable organisation
- Must pass a competitive selection interview conducted by the Commission in collaboration with the Public Services Commission.
In-Service Entry
- Availability of a vacancy in the grade of Senior Legal Manager
- A minimum of three (3) years in the grade of Legal Manager
- Must have a satisfactory Staff Performance Assessment Report
- Must pass a competitive selection interview conducted by the Commission in collaboration with the Public Services Commission.
Career Progression
- Promotion to the grade of Principal Legal Manager is subject to the following:
- Availability of a vacancy in the grade of Principal Legal Manager
- A minimum of three (3) years in the grade of Senior Legal Manager
- Must have a satisfactory Staff Performance Assessment Report
- Must pass a competitive selection interview conducted by the Commission in collaboration with the Public Services Commission.

#02. JOB VACANCY: DIRECTOR FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION
The National Media Commission (NMC) is looking for a suitably qualified, goal-oriented, and results-driven person with exceptional leadership qualities for appointment to the position of: DIRECTOR FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION
Job Purpose
To provide strategic and technical direction in the management of human, financial, and material resources for the achievement of the mandate of the Commission.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides inputs for the formulation of policies of the Commission.
- Ensures the development of guidelines, procedures, and processes on the management of financial, human, and materials resources of the Commission.
- Provides technical advice on administrative and labour laws and regulations in the public service.
- Ensures the effective and efficient administration and management of human, material, and financial resources of the Commission.
- Ensures the development and maintenance of Human Resource Management Information Systems for the Commission. Ensures collaboration with other Divisions in the implementation of programmes and activities of the Commission.
- Ensures the development, implementation, and review of administrative and human resource management policies, systems, structures, and manuals for the Commission 7.
- Ensures the maintenance of a cordial Management-Union relationship
- Ensures the preparation of the annual financial performance reports of the Commission
- Advises Management on the financial management laws, regulations, fiscal policies, and any other financial issues
- Ensures the implementation of recommendations contained in audit reports
- Ensures the development and implementation of guidelines for the management of estate, transport, public relations, logistics, and the provision of services.
- Ensures the implementation of the performance management system of the Commission.
- Ensures the effective and efficient management of corporate programmes and activities of the Commission
- Ensures the preparation of the work plan and budget of the Division.
- Ensures the preparation of annual and other periodic reports of the Division.
Qualification And Experience
Direct Entry
- A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Administration, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resource Management, or any other related field from an accredited tertiary institution.
- Membership of a relevant professional body will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of ten (10) years post-qualification relevant work experience, five (5) years of which must be in a senior management position in a reputable institution.
- Must pass a competitive selection interview conducted by the Public Services Commission in consultation with the Commission.
In-Service Entry
- Availability of vacancy in the grade of Director, Finance and Administration
- A minimum of five (5) years in the grade of Deputy Director, Administration/Deputy Director Human Resource/ Deputy Director Finance.
- Must have a satisfactory Staff Performance Appraisal Report.
- Must pass a competitive selection interview conducted by the Public Services Commission in consultation with the Commission
Career Progression
- By promotion to the grade of Deputy Executive Secretary, subject to the following: Availability of a vacancy in the grade of Deputy Executive Secretary.

Job Purpose:
To provide technical, operational, and administrative leadership in Corporate Affairs for the achievement of the objectives of the Commission.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinates the development and implementation of short-term and long-term communications strategies for the Commission
- Coordinates the development of public relations strategies to promote the corporate image of the Commission
- Ensures the implementation of Public Relations activities
- Coordinates the design of best media practice to promote the corporate image of the Commission
- Establishes rapport between the Commission and major players in the media industry, both domestic and international
- Coordinates the preparation of public relations reports to management
- Coordinates the conduction of analyses of media landscape, especially on publications in the print and electronic media.
Qualifications And Experience

- A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Communication studies, Journalism, Public Relations or related field from an accredited tertiary institution.
- A member of the Institute of Public Relations
- A minimum of six (6) years post-qualification relevant work experience in a reputable organization.
- Must pass a competitive selection interview conducted by the Commission in collaboration with the Public Services Commission.

The National Media Commission (NMC) is looking for a suitably qualified, goal-oriented, and results-driven person with exceptional leadership qualities for appointment to the position of: DIRECTOR PRM&E
Job Purpose
To provide administrative, technical, and operational leadership in PRM&E for the achievement of the objectives of the Commission.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinates the formulation of media policies and regulations of the Commission
- Coordinates the preparation of plans and strategies of the Commission.
- Provides advice on various services, policies, programmes, systems, processes, procedures, capacity building, security, projects, and strategies
- Ensures the development of performance targets and indicators that are in tandem with the expected goals and objectives of the Commission.
- Oversees research grant programs and evaluates the effectiveness and impact to deliver outcomes that can be applied for the benefit of the Media Industry 5.
- Provides high-level research advice and expertise to the commission to better inform policy development and implementation 6.

- Coordinates the monitoring and evaluation of the effectiveness of policies, programs, and projects.
- Ensures the maintenance of a comprehensive database for the Commission.
- Supervises the preparation and submission of annual, quarterly, and other periodic reports of the Commission
- Ensures the implementation of the performance management policy in the Division of the Commission.
Qualifications And Experience
Direct Entry
- A minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited tertiary institution in any of the following fields: Statistics, Mathematics, Project Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, and Economics, or other related disciplines.
- A minimum of ten (10) years post-qualification relevant work experience, five (5) years of which must be in a Senior Management position in a reputable institution.
- Must pass a competitive selection interview conducted by the Public Services Commission in consultation with the Commission.
In-Service Entry
- Availability of vacancy in the grade of Director, PRM&E.
- A minimum of five (5) years in the grade of Deputy Director, PRM&E.
