The Teagasc Walsh Scholarship 2026 invites outstanding candidates for a fully funded PhD opportunity in Ireland, focused on the innovative “Next Gen Milking” project.
This research aims to revolutionise dairy farming by developing cow-level milking management strategies that enhance efficiency, animal welfare, and milk quality.

Eligible Nationalities

To qualify for the Teagasc Walsh PhD Scholarship 2026, applicants must:
- Hold a first or upper second-class honours degree in a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
- Have experience in statistical or modelling software (desirable).
- Possess a full driving licence.
- Meet the University of Limerick’s English language requirements.
- A Master’s degree in a related field is an advantage.
