How to Apply for 2026/2027 College of Education Admission, Ghana.

The Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) has officially opened applications for admission into the Forty-Nine (49) Public Colleges of Education for the 2026/2027 academic year.

Suitably qualified applicants are invited to apply for admission into the Four-Year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree programmes offered across the public Colleges of Education in Ghana.

The admission process covers several entry routes, including WASSCE, SSSCE, GCE Advanced Level, ABCE, TVET, and other recognised qualifications.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

WASSCE Applicants

Applicants must obtain credit passes (A1–C6) in six subjects, including:

Three Core Subjects

  • English Language
  • Core Mathematics
  • Integrated Science or Social Studies

Three Relevant Elective Subjects

SSSCE Applicants

Applicants must obtain credit passes (A–D) in six subjects, including:

  • English Language
  • Core Mathematics
  • Integrated Science or Social Studies
  • Three relevant elective subjects.

Awaiting Results

  • Candidates who are yet to write the 2026 WASSCE or TVET Certificate II examinations may also apply as awaiting results applicants.

 GCE Advanced Level Applicants

Applicants must:

Pass three Advanced Level subjects (at least one must be Grade D or better)

Obtain five credit passes in GCE Ordinary Level, including:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • A Science or Social Science subject

Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE)

Applicants must:

Pass three ABCE subjects (at least one Grade D or better)

Obtain five credit passes in GBCE, including:

  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • Integrated Science or Social Studies

Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Applicants

Applicants must meet any of the following conditions:

Hold a TVET Certificate II with Lower Credit (C-) or better in six subjects, including:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Integrated Science or Social Studies
  • Three relevant electives.

OR

Possess Certificate II in three relevant trade areas, awarded by:

  • Technical Examinations Unit (TEU)
  • National Vocational Training Institute (NVTI)
  • City & Guilds
  • Other recognised awarding bodies

OR

  • Hold NABPTEX Certificate II in relevant trade areas with three WASSCE/SSSCE core credits, including English and Mathematics.

OR

  • Possess a National Certificate II qualification in Competency-Based Training (CBT) under the National TVET Qualification Framework (NTVETQF).

Foreign Qualification Holders

  • Applicants with foreign certificates must obtain qualification equivalence from the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission.
  • The SAT, TOEFL, and similar examinations cannot be used alone as entry qualifications into Ghanaian tertiary institutions.

SPECIAL NEEDS ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Visually Impaired Applicants

Entry Requirements

Credit passes (A–D) in:

  • English Language
  • Social Studies
  • Three relevant electives.

Hearing Impaired Applicants

Study facilities are available at:

  • Presbyterian College of Education, Akropong.

  • Three relevant electives.

SSSCE

How to Apply for the 2026/2027 College of Education Admission

Applicants must complete the application process online after purchasing an application voucher.

Cost of Application Form

  • The application fee is GH¢350.00.

Where to Buy the Form

Applicants can purchase the application voucher through:

  • Any branch of Consolidated Bank Ghana nationwide

Mobile money using short code *924*8# on:

  • MTN Mobile Money
  • Telecel (Vodafone) Cash
  • Airtel Money
  • Tigo Cash

After payment, applicants will receive:

  • Personal Identification Number (PIN)
  • Admission Application Serial Number
  • Admission website address

Steps to Complete the Online Application

  • Visit the admission portal: https://admission.coeportal.edu.gh
  • Log in using the PIN and Serial Number.
  • Carefully read all instructions before completing the form.
  • Select three Colleges of Education in order of preference.
  • Choose one Ghanaian language offered in the selected college.
  • Complete the online form and submit it.
  • Print a copy of the completed application form.

Submission of Printed Application

Applicants must send the printed application together with:

  • One passport photograph
  • Copies of results slips (if available)

The documents must be sent through EMS Priority Envelope from Ghana Post and addressed to:

The principal of the applicant’s First Choice College of Education.

Notices to Applicants

  • Applicants will receive confirmation of their application via SMS.
  • Successful applicants will also receive admission notifications through SMS.
  • Applicants must provide accurate and active phone numbers.
  • The Colleges of Education will verify results with the West African Examinations Council.

The authorities warn that applicants who submit fake or falsified documents will face legal consequences.

Prospective candidates are therefore advised to follow all instructions carefully and ensure that their applications are properly completed before submission.
