Guidelines for Media Coverage of H. E. John Dramani Mahama’s State of the Nation Address on Friday, February 27.
On Friday, February 27, 2026, H. E. John Dramani Mahama will address Parliament, a Message on the State of the Nation Address in line with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution.
As a result, Parliament has implemented the following procedures to ensure that journalists follow established protocols and acquire appropriate accreditation.
Failure to obtain accreditation will result in the denial of access.
All Journalists who intend to cover this event but are not members of the Parliamentary Press Corps must submit their application not later than Tuesday, 24th February 2026, to the Director, Media Relations Department.
Accordingly, Journalists should ensure that their accreditation is conspicuously displayed throughout the event.
Journalists/Reporters should restrict themselves to the designated areas as indicated on their respective accreditation.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker’s lobby is Out of Bounds for photography and interviews. and any other related media engagements.
Clean feed will be provided for rebroadcast unless it is necessary. Members of the media are encouraged to use the clean feed to avoid overcrowding in the public gallery.
All interviews and live broadcasts shall be held at the Foyer on the Ground floor of the Chamber block, Parliament House. Kindly note that Media Houses Reporters will undergo security screening, which includes their equipment/gadgets.
Allocation of the space in the foyer will be on a “first come first served” basis.
The public gallery has been designated for guests, and therefore, the media are to restrict their activities to the press gallery as much as possible.
All media outlets/reporters must strictly comply with these directions as part of the security measures in place to ensure the event’s success.
