Aalto University offers a wide range of two-year master’s programs across three academic fields:
- Art and Design – Master of Arts (Art and Design)
- Business and Economics – Master of Science (Economics and Business Administration)
- Technology and Engineering – Master of Science (Technology), Master of Science (Architecture), or Master of Science (Landscape Architecture)
- Applicants may apply for up to two study options in one application round.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible for Aalto University Master’s admission 2026, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree equivalent to 180 ECTS credits or a minimum of three years of full-time study.
- The degree must grant eligibility for master’s studies in the awarding country.
- Provide proof of English language proficiency (IELTS, TOEFL, or other accepted tests).
- Upload all required documents before the deadline.
Note: Applicants with incomplete bachelor’s degrees may apply if they will graduate by 31 July 2026.

- Bachelor’s degree certificate
- Official transcript of records
- Authorized English translations (if required)
- Proof of English proficiency (IELTS/TOEFL)
- Copy of passport or national ID
- Motivation letter (specific to each study option)
- Portfolio (for Art, Design, or Architecture applicants)
- GMAT or GRE test results (for Business and some Engineering programs)

APPLICATION AND TUITION FEES
Application Fee:
- €100 for applicants who are non-EU/EEA citizens.
Who needs to pay tuition fees?
- Tuition fees apply to students who are not citizens of the European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA), or Switzerland, and who are admitted to English-taught degree programs.
STUDENTS DO NOT HAVE TO PAY TUITION FEES IF THEY:
- Hold a permanent residence permit (type P) in Finland.
- Hold a continuous residence permit (type A) in Finland granted on grounds other than studying.
- Hold a long-term EU residence permit (type P-EU).
- Are family members of an EU citizen with a valid residence card.
- Hold an EU Blue Card.
- Hold a Brexit residence permit (SEU-sopimuksen 50 artikla).
- Hold a temporary protection residence permit valid at the beginning of the academic year.
Note: The fee-exempting residence permit must be valid on 1 August 2026 to qualify for exemption.
- If the permit expires before August, tuition fees will apply.

- 2 January 2026 (3 PM UTC+2): Application form closes
- 9 January 2026: Deadline for uploading all application documents
- 8 April 2026: Admission results are published
- 29 April 2026: Deadline to accept the admission offer
- August–September 2026: Orientation week and start of studies
HOW TO APPLY:
- If you are a non-EU/EEA citizen, you can apply for the Aalto University Excellence Scholarship directly on your master’s program application form by selecting “Yes” to the question, “Do you apply for a scholarship?”.
- You cannot apply before or after the official application period.

- Visit studyinfo.fi.
- Fill out the online application form (1 Dec 2025 – 2 Jan 2026).
- Select up to two study options in order of preference.
- Pay the €100 application fee (if applicable).
- Upload all required documents by 9 January 2026.
- Wait for evaluation and admission results in April 2026.
