Eastern Mediterranean University Graduate Scholarships 2027, North Cyprus.
Eastern Mediterranean University (EMU), through its Institute of Graduate Studies and Research, offers 50% and 100% tuition fee scholarships for outstanding Master’s and PhD students from Turkey and other international countries.
These scholarships are designed to support high-achieving students enrolling for the first time in EMU graduate programs.
Eastern Mediterranean University provides merit-based tuition fee scholarships for eligible graduate students enrolling in Master’s and Doctoral (PhD) programs.
Scholarships are awarded based on academic performance and departmental evaluation criteria.
Available Scholarship Types.
- 100% Tuition Fee Scholarship
- 50% Tuition Fee Scholarship
Degree Level.
- Master’s Programs (Thesis & Non-Thesis)
- PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) Programs
Scholarship Duration.
- Non-thesis Master’s: 3 academic semesters
- Thesis Master’s: 4 academic semesters
- PhD: 10 academic semesters
Note: Registration fees, student services fund, books, and freezing fees are not covered.

Scholarships are available for all graduate programs offered by Eastern Mediterranean University, subject to departmental approval and ranking. This includes but is not limited to:

Eligibility Criteria.
General Conditions (All Applicants)
- Must be newly enrolling students (first-time registration at EMU)
- Students who previously terminated or dismissed their registration and re-applied are not eligible
- Special or visiting students are not eligible
PhD Programs (International & Turkish Nationals)
Minimum academic requirements:
- Bachelor’s CGPA ≥ 3.00 / 4.00, or
- Bachelor’s CGPA 2.75 – 2.99 / 4.00 AND
- Master’s CGPA ≥ 3.50 / 4.00
Departments rank applicants based on overall academic merit, not CGPA alone. Each department may award:
- One 100% scholarship
- One 50% scholarship
Master’s Programs – Turkish Republic Citizens.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s CGPA ≥ 3.00 / 4.00 for 100% or 50% scholarship consideration, or
- Bachelor’s CGPA 2.75 – 2.99 / 4.00 with:
- ALES score ≥ 65 (Thesis programs)
- ALES score ≥ 65 (any type) for non-thesis programs
Master’s Programs – International Students.
- Eligible for 50% tuition fee scholarship
- Scholarship decision is made after program acceptance
- Scholarship details are stated in the Letter of Acceptance
Research Assistantship (Category E)
- Students awarded 100% scholarship may be appointed as Category E Research Assistants
- Requires a minimum of 6 hours per week of academic or administrative duties
- 50% scholarship holders cannot be assigned as Category E Research Assistants
- Students holding multiple assistantships must choose one scholarship type
Scholarship Continuation Conditions.
- Must pass all courses each semester
- Maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.00 / 4.00
- Scholarships may resume if academic conditions are met again
Scholarship Cancellation Conditions.
Scholarship will be terminated if the student:
- Fails to meet scholarship requirements
- Cancels or does not renew registration
- Commits a disciplinary offense
- Is found to have re-applied after previous enrollment at the same program level
Application Procedure.
- Apply online to an EMU graduate program.
- Select the scholarship option during the online application
Applications are accepted twice a year:
- Fall Semester
- Spring Semester
Departments evaluate and rank applicants
Shortlisted candidates are announced in the Scholarship Calendar
Selected students must complete registration by the deadline
Extension Requests.
Students unable to register on time due to valid reasons (visa, travel, etc.) may submit a formal petition to:
- The relevant academic department
- The Institute of Graduate Studies and Research.
