The list highlights areas that require urgent placement of teachers to improve access to quality education in underserved communities.

Priority postings are expected to be directed to these areas as part of efforts to address teacher shortages in rural and deprived communities.

Savannah Region

All districts but priority will be given to:

• East Gonja – Salaga;
• North Gonja – Daboya;

• Central Gonja – Buipe

Upper East Region:

All districts except Bolgatanga and priority will be given to:

• Bawku West – Zebilla;
• Builsa North – Sandema;
• Builsa South – Fumbisi;
• Bongo Garu;
• Tempane;
• Pusiga

Upper West Region:

All districts except Wa and priority will be given to:

• Sissala West – Gwollu;
• Wa West – Wechiau;
• Lambussie-Karni;
• Nandom & Jirapa;
• Daffiama-Bussie-Issa

Oti Region.

All districts but priority will be given to:

• Krachi East – Dambai;
• Nkwanta South;
• Nkwanta North;

Western North Region:

All districts except Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai and Sefwi Wiawso

But priority will be given to:

• Bia East – Adabokrom;
• Bia West – Essam;
• Bodi;
• Sefwi Akontombra;
• Sefwi Wiawso

This is to serve as a guide on the districts to choose in the upcoming GES recruitment exercise, which starts soon, since the Minister of Education and the President hinted that recruitment is going to be limited to only deprived districts.
