Dalarna University Scholarship Benefits
Dalarna University Scholarship offers three main types of financial aid for international students:
Choose Dalarna First Scholarship;
- Value: 5,000 SEK tuition reduction for the first semester
- Eligibility: Automatically awarded to students who:
- Rank a Dalarna University program as their first choice on UniversityAdmissions.se
- Submit the DU scholarship application on time
Academic Excellence Scholarship
- Per Semester Award: 5,000 to 15,000 SEK
- Graduation Bonus: Up to 30,000 SEK upon meeting program distinction criteria
- Total Value: Up to 90,000 SEK for eligible students
Performance Requirements:
- Earn 30 credits per semester
- Achieve top academic results
- Maintain academic standing and timely course completions
Swedish Institute Scholarships (SISGP, Women in STEM)
- Full tuition fee coverage
- Monthly living stipend (12,000 SEK)
- Travel and insurance grants
- Eligibility based on nationality and academic merit
- Separate application through the Swedish Institute
Eligible Nationalities
- Open to non-EU/EEA and all international students, depending on scholarship type

For those who Choose Dalarna First Scholarship:
- Apply to a DU master’s program as first choice
- Be a tuition-paying student
- Submit scholarship application before deadline
- Gain admission to a master’s program
For Academic Excellence Scholarship:
- Successfully complete 30 credits per semester
- Earn top grades in at least 15 credits per term
- Ensure results are available within 6 weeks post-semester
- Apply during the designated window
- Maintain compliance with DU academic policies
For Swedish Institute Scholarships:
- Be a citizen of an eligible country listed by the Swedish Institute
- Apply to an eligible master’s program at DU
- Submit a separate application to SI during their open period

Choose Dalarna First Scholarship:
- Autumn 2026 Intake : Deadline – 15 February 2026
- Spring 2026 Intake : Deadline – 15 September 2025
Academic Excellence Scholarship;
- For Spring 2026 Results : Apply 1–15 July 2026
- For Autumn 2026 Results : Apply 1–15 February 2027
Swedish Institute Scholarships;
- Apply directly on the SI website during February 2026
