A Teacher’s name has been written with faeces on white board at Mpintsin AME Zion School in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis.

Students and teachers of the Mpintsin AME Zion School in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis of the Western Region arrived in school on Monday morning to a disturbing scene in one of the classrooms.

Reports available to Connect FM indicates, an unidentified individual entered the Junior High School Two B (JHS 2B) classroom overnight and defecated in the room.

The culprit is said to have used the faeces to write the name of the Assembly Member of the area who happens to be a former teacher of the school on the whiteboard.

The message left on the board read: “ACOSA bra betsi,” which translates as “ACOSA, come and clean it.”

The incident has brought shock and embarrassment to the school and residents of the community including the chief.

The situation prompted teachers in the school to immediately embark on a sit-down strike until the classroom is fully cleaned.

A teacher, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, host of Connect FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show, that staff will not return to the classroom until works in the affected classroom is completed.

“Teachers in the school are currently on a sit-down strike. We are registering our anger towards the incident. Yesterday, we had a meeting with the Mpintsin chief together with the School Improvement and Support Officer. The chief made a promise to change the marker board and paint the entire classroom.

“He has brought a paint and a new board to be installed. We are still on sit-down strike as teachers. We shall only go back until the situation is fully addressed. The community has also promised to employ a security for the school,” he indicated.

Investigations have since commenced to identify the perpetrator.

In the meantime, the Assembly Member of area, John Johnson, also known as ACOSA has expressed regret over the turn of events.

He suspects detractors.

“I understand what is happening, it’s part of our society. It is someone who wants to tarnish my hard-earned reputation who is behind this. But this will not destruct me, it will rather motivate me to do more for the community”, he noted.
