We are seeking to appoint an engaging and highly motivated Teacher of Science to join our successful and supportive team in a well-established department at Rooks Heath School.
The appointed teacher will be required to continue to raise standards throughout the school and will be required to teach Science across KS3, KS4, and all ability ranges.

Education and Qualifications
- hold a Qualified Teacher Status
- have a Degree in a relevant subject
- commit to continuous professional development
- have or be willing to undergo appropriate First Aid training E
- A good basic education to GCSE (or equivalent) in literacy and numeracy. Or other evidence of being suitably numerate and literate in English
- You have excellent literacy and communication skills, including proficiency in accurate written and spoken English, the ability to make points clearly and confidently, providing information and advice in accurate spoken English, and the ability to understand the views of others
Experience
- Successful secondary teaching experience
- To have experience of working and multi-tasking within a complex and demanding role
- To have experience working with mixed-ability students
- Extensive experience with school systems, SIMS/Bromcom

Teacher of Science Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- To teach Science throughout the School in KS3 and KS4.
- To develop innovative, traditional, and non-traditional approaches to the Science curriculum to ensure appropriate access and achievement for all students.
- To teach using a variety of delivery methods that will stimulate learning, meeting the demands
- of the curriculum and the needs of the students.
- To assist in the development and deployment of resources as appropriate.
- To plan and prepare courses and lessons.
- To assess, record, and report on the attainment, attendance, and progress of students, keeping such records as required.
- To monitor and record student progress according to the school’s assessment policy.
- To maintain discipline in accordance with the School’s procedures and encourage good practice about punctuality, behaviour, and standards of work.
- To set, mark, and record homework according to the homework timetable.
- To assess students’ work in line with the School policies and procedures, referring to student performance targets.
- To provide pastoral support to students with special educational needs.
- To run intervention or extra-curricular sessions if required.
- To teach some lessons in our primary school within the MAT if required.
