2 ‘Okada’ riders dead in a head-on collision at Wantakra.
Two people have lost their lives in a fatal crash involving two motorcycles at Wantakra, a community near Wassa Senchem in the Wassa East District.
The deceased have been identified as Seth Arthur, an Okada rider, and Gordon Agbemenye, an apprentice who was on his way to meet his master at Senchem. Both died instantly in the collision.
A third victim, a riding pillion, survived the crash but sustained life-threatening injuries and is currently receiving treatment at the Church of Christ Christian Hospital in Wassa Ateiku.
Assembly Member for the area, Alhassan Ibrahim Braima, confirmed the incident and described the situation as horrifying.
Alhasan Ibrahim Braima, in narrating the incident, disclosed that “the accident occurred at a sharp curve as one of the riders was coming from Brofoyedu, while the other was from Senchem.
The rider from Senchem, who was speeding and veered off his lane while negotiating the curve and collided head-on with the other motorcyclist.”
“The impact of the crash killed both riders instantly, leaving their motorbikes badly mangled.” He narrated.
